CHRISTIAN FAMILIES ARE NOT IMMUNE TO TEEN TRAGEDIES
The reality of this struck the Rebsamen family on May 23rd, 2002
when 14-year-old Aaron Stephen Rebsamen took his own life. Aaron’s
dad, Bill Rebsamen, reflects on the creation of the Get Serious
Project.
“We were like so many other Christian families, sure we were
dealing with typical teenage boy problems but nothing of this
nature ever crossed our minds. In the wake of Aaron’s death
I found myself seeking answers in prayer, God’s Word, family,
friends and church. During many sleepless nights I searched
the Internet for information, statistics and other survivors
of teen suicide.
The Get Serious Project web site is intended to be a resource
for
parents, family, friends and young people alike who are dealing
with Teen Tragedies.”
